Well, after twenty three years of life my Dad decided that I really did need to get my wisdom teeth taken out. He's been watching them over the years, and I guess I'm a late bloomer as far as that goes. I have only two wisdom teeth, which are on the top, and they've taken their time coming in. My dad thought I might never have to have them come out, but they've been moving down little by little, and the closer they come to coming fulling down, the more they push my front teeth, putting that perfect smile I spent 2 1/2 years in braces for, in jeoprady.

Dan snapped this right after I got out of the dentist chair while we were waiting for my perscriptions. Lovely.
Well thanks to Brian Regan I can never get any sympathy for my two wisdom teeth story, but I'm going to tell it anyway. On the day after Christmas, after alot of shots, lots of poking and prying the first one came out in half an hour. That was supposed to be the hard one, but as is my dad's experience, things always seem to go wrong or are most difficult on his family or friends. My second tooth needed much more coaxing out than the first. Almost an hour later, with my dad about ready to give up, it come out, to reveal a huge root that had been the cause of the difficulty. My dad had a hard time seeing with my small mouth and his not so little hands, so my cheeks took quite a beating, and my lip got split on one side from all the struggle.

Check out my cheeks the day after. I'll be the first to admit, I natually have chubby cheeks, but with the swelling, I look like a chickmonk with nuts stuffed in there.
Despite all this, I still know that my dad is a great dentist, and that he did a great job! He says that some of the hardest wisdom teeth that he's had to pull were on my cousin Stacey, my sister Shannon and that mine was pretty tricky too. So even though I don't get bragging rights about how tramatic it was to take them out, I'm ok with having only two wisdom teeth, cause in the end I'm the lucky one. My sister-in-law Emily was born with 6 wisdom teeth I hear. I wouldn't trade her bragging rights for my breezy wisdom tooth extraction experience.

Oh man, I remember when I got mine pulled. It was the summer after my first year of college, and I really got sick of yogurt. I hope all is well!
