How a bear cub cures cabin fever

I'm excited that it's now February because January was bit of a drag and needed to end.  Don't believe me?  Let's review the hightlights.
Toddler Time at the Kroc only once
Super cute 3 year olds Veggie Tales Birthday Party
Story Time at the Library twice
One month closer til my sister and her husband get their newborn baby boy!
Freeeeeeeezing temperatures for too many days in a row
Dec. 31st Dan started teaching speech at Lake City High School for the rest of the school year...
(...and next year hopefully!)

Despite coming one month closer to auntiedom again, getting to eat way too many Bob and Larry cake pops and the new, very low paying employment (that I'm totally thankful for) I'm happy to be onto month two of 2011.

The cold tempuratures, though unaccompanied by snow, reminded me of my Rexburg Id, and Russia days.  The air smells different when its that cold.  And smell, as you know, is the strongest memory trigger.  I love that.  There are certain lotions scents that take me right back to each year of High School or somtimes when I catch a wiff of an older ladies perfume I think of my 1st grade teacher. Soooooooo, I'm totally digressing . . . . . anyway, cold air smell makes me think of rexburg and cold air with cigarette smoke in it makes me think of Russia.  You can't learn that from books folks!

So, the Gus cub and myself were only too excited when it got even remotely warm enough for a nice walk about of the great outdoors.

The moral of this story is that Gus makes a great explorer, the air smells better in America, and a trip outside can do wonders for a couple of cooped up crazies.

Gus is such a cutie pie!
I ran into Shhannon at the store last night. She told me about their upcoming baby boy. She will make such a wonderful mom. I'm excited for her. :)
By the way, how do you get your photos to post side by side like in this post???
