My hubby. He teaches speech. He's teaching the "dinosaur musical" music to the high school students who'll perform it. He's teaching and leading the student orchestra for the musical. He delivers pizza.
I want to tell you a story about my hubby and a man named Jan (pronounced Yohn), and how they met while Dan was about his pizza delivering duties.
Yohn was hanging a sign of a large, yellow, wooden shoe. See the connection? Yes, Dan did too, and I can just see my hubby brimming with sheer excitement as he spoke in dutch with this quintessential Dutchman. They spoke about the restaurant Yohn was opening up and about all the great foods Dan hasn't had in ages. About how much Dan loved the food from his mission, how he misses it so and can't wait to come eat it at Yohn's restaurant! And many other things they did speak about, it Dutch.
Dan had a good day. And he proceeded to count the days till the grand opening of the "Wooden Shoe" European Eatery. Which leads us to this past Saturday. We went out to eat. Let me just say that again. We went out to eat! Exceptions must be made to budgets and so forth for such occasions as dutch cuisine now being served in the post falls area. Heck, in Idaho...in the whole northwest is crazy enough.
So there stands my proud hubby and already partially bilingual in dutch son, in front of none other than, the wooden shoe restaurant. The poffertjes were delightful, the krokket was cool, and the special seasoned sausage was to die for.
Speaking of things that are delightful, cool and to die for . . . the smell that organic apples emanate during their cozy car ride home is delightful, your little boy taking a second nap in the day, because he fell asleep in the car with only one shoe on, is cool, and well, my oh so handsome, happily hard working hubby is definitely to die for.
