Strange things happen to stuffed animals around Easter.

Do you ever find it strange how around a certain time of year all the stuffed animals in the stores mysteriously get dressed up as bunnies?  I do.

Sometimes I think something like that has happened to by little boy.  He's my bear cub, but lately he's taken to acting like a dinosaur.  He likes to hold his beautiful hands up in the air, curl his fingers up like claws and roar at us.  It couldn't possible be because his favorite book (that his daddy is reading to him in the picture below for probably the bajillionth time) is, "How does a dinosaur say goodnight?"

Yeah, I think we now own a copy of that book, since Gus tore a page clean in half from the copy we checked out from the library.

Anyway, back to my bear cub.  He's Gus.  But he's a bear cub.  But he acts like a dinosaur.  So it's perfectly natural when I sometimes imagine him as Gus, as a bear cub, dressed as a dinosaur . . . right?  That can make sense I think, especially if Tigger's still sell dressed as a bunnies, which are in the species family of the character who loathes him most, Rabbit!  I rest my case.

That questions aside, on the day these pictures were taken Gus was channeling a little bit of a different combo than cub/dino.  You see on this day his Daddy dressed him.  And daddy usually does very well in this department, but sometimes Daddy notices an article of clothing I don't put on Gus much, and takes it upon himself to see that he wears it.  Thus, the athletic pants/hawaiian shirt combo.  Now, I'm not sure if a certain man or his wife will read his (but I sure hope so!), but since I'm now writing about him, some how I'm sure he will...but Gus was totally channeling a certain burly cowboy hawaiian shirt wearing, lawyer man *cough...mccord *cough...larsen on this certain occasion!

Oh, and you gotta love the mad scientist hair!  Nothing does you hair like a full nights rest.  Thus, all this taken into account, I owed it to the gods of quirky cuteness to capture this scenario you see before you.

And in my very unbiased opinion, it just gets cuter the closer you get :)

Bahahaha! Yes, I had Mac read it. But don't worry, his Hawaiian shirt wearing days have greatly diminished with his new profession. However, I do believe once it warms up enough to start roping we'll be seeing a lot more of those..... shirts.
Give Gus a high five! We miss you guys!
