Oh Good, There's More Where That Came From...

So, as I was typing up my little rant last night about my neighbor, little did I know that there was a sequel to the episode of awefulness that I was experiencing soon to follow.

Dan got home from Grease rehersal and physics homework around 11:30 pm. He, hoping to enter his home to find it peaceful and quiet, instead was met with me attempting to type out my frustration, and Gus thankfully sleeping quietly, amid loud racket coming down from our neighbors TV turned up to what I'm sure was its full capacity. If you read my previous post, you know that prior to his arrival I had already experienced the loud TV ealier in the evening along with loud bass music, and premeditatedly timed vacuuming.
I showed Dan the post I wrote about my evening, and I informed him I was very serious about the move ready to move part. He was on board. So Dan and I shook our heads at the loud TV and went to bed around 12 (wow that's late for me!, i'm usually in bed before 11, but I was ranting, right) thinking the worst was over.
Meanwhile, the TV continued. Then at about 1 am I heard the tv noise stop and walking around noises from upstairs and thought she was off to bed. So wrong! I heard the bathroom go, and then STOMP!!!! She jumped up and down on her floor, our ceiling! This and the hate that was behind it scared me to bad, I just started balling right there in bed. Then she turned on some extremely loud bass music. And then started vacuuming...at 1:10 am in the morning! Dan HAD it once the vacuuming started and marched right up there.
She came out, opened the porch door, saw it was him, slammed the door, swore obscenly at him, and went back inside.
I, meanwhile, lay in bed crying and heart racing, scared about what might go down up there and for Dan, and was yet very thankful Gus was somehow sleeping through all this and didn't have to see his mother a wreck.

Well, all this was the huge gigantic haybail that broke the camels back! When Dan came down he said, "This is over tomorrow. Either the land lords give her an eviction notice tomorrow or we are gone!" Though I was comforted by knowing that in the day to come this would all be over one way or another, it still took me a couple hours to finally settle down and fall asleep. I just wanted morning to come already. She kept the TV on till 3 am, and finally called it a night, after which I finally was able to fall asleep for about an hour and half, til when I had to get up to feed Gus.

So we already have made some inquires and have a few possible options of where we could move for two months, and are waiting for the Land lord to call us back. If she doesn't call back today, we might just take that as our answer, and move out and let her know that we're gone. We'll see what happens, but one way or another I'm not staying in this house alone with Gus if I can possibly help it till then. It frightens me, especially for Gus's sack, to be so near someone so horrible, unstable, and that would purposely try to disturb a little baby.

To Be Continued...

What a horrid, bitter, awful, vile person she is! There is absolutely no excuse for her behavior and there is no excuse for the Land Lord to not grow a back bone and handle this. The thing about it is that the next tenant is going to have the same problems as you because the lady above you is obviously, like you said, unstable. It would be easier for the Land Lord to just evict her and get a good tenant that will not disturb the peace and keep the rent money coming. If your Land Lord doesn't do anything I would write to the Better Business Bureau and maybe write a letter to the newspaper, sometimes they do a letter to the editor and give the address and tell them the situation. Also, send a copy to both the lady upstairs and the Land Lord stating that this is public and will be read by many. That's just me as I like to be a little vindictive at times. Keep us posted! -Kelsee
